Mass DUI
If convicted of a Mass Dui, Massachusetts Laws make you susceptible to a multitude of consequences that you need to be aware of.
At the top; a DUI in MA can include hefty fines, suspension of your license, drug/alcohol evaluations and classes, probation, lose of vehicle, and/or jail time. Beyond these factors, it does not include the non-legal consequences, which could cost you your job, livelihood and reputation.
Massachusetts Drunk Driving Laws are strict and costly if arrested. In MA you can be arrested for driving for having a BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) of .08. You need to know the consequences.
The legal drinking age in MA is 21; if you are under the legal drinking age and pulled over with a BAC of .02 you will face administrative penalties. If under the age of 21 and BAC is .08 or higher you will also face standard charges.
The only way to lessen these consequences at all is to have a good Mass Dui Lawyer. After you get arrested, the first thing you should do is find one. With so many out there, this should not be too difficult of a task.

First Offense
- Fine: $500 to $5,000
- Jail: No minimum to 2.5 years
- Driver’s License Suspension: one year
- Sentences a first OUI offense can get be reduced by completing a state-approved alcohol education program. This is only for the first offense.
Second Offense
- Fine: $600 to $10,000
- Jail: 30 days to 2.5 years
- Driver’s license suspension: two years
Third Offense (felony)
- Fine: $1,000 to $15,000
- Jail: 150 days to five years
- Suspension: eight years
Fourth Offense (felony)
- Fine: $1,500 to $25,000
- Jail: one to five years
- Suspension: 10 years
Fifth Offense (felony)
- Fine: $20,000 to $50,000
- Jail: two to five years
- Suspension: lifetime
Driving drunk should never be a consideration and never let a friend drive drunk. You owe it to yourself, your friendship and the lives of innocent people who can be harmed. The State of Massachusetts takes driving sober very seriously.
